Overview

Kaluha is a user, group and host administration application. It is designed to be a simple KDE GUI to manipulate unix user, group and host information on an LDAP sever.

We have been using version 0.4 in-house for quite some time. It was developed during our conversion to Linux period (after moving authentication mechanisms to LDAP). We felt it filled a void in User Administration. Recently (end of Sept 2002), someone pointed out Directory Administrator. We shamelessly borrowed some cool ideas/features from the Gnome app... creating version 0.5 of Kaluha. If we'd known about this application earlier, we probably would have never created ours...

Source Downloads can be found on Sourceforge. The source requires libldap, liblber (found in LDAP devel packages) and libcrypt (found in glibc devel packages). The current version was tested on SuSE v8.0, using KDE 3.0.4, Qt 3.0.5 and LDAP 2.0.23. Development was done using Qt Designer, KDevelop and Visual Slickedit.

It is not a "complete" application. It works 100% great for us on our production boxes. However, we make absolutely NO guarantees. Please use on a test system first.
